First launch
Opening the app for the first time
The Windows, macOS and Linux builds are not yet code-signed, so each of those systems shows a warning the first time you open the app. It is safe to run. The Android APK is release-signed, but installing outside the Play Store still trips its own prompt. Here is how to get past each one.
| Windows | SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. If Defender quarantines the file, restore it and allow it. |
|---|---|
| macOS | macOS 15 Sequoia: open the app, let it be blocked, then go to System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ “Open Anyway” and authenticate. macOS 12–14: right-click the app ▸ Open ▸ Open. |
| Linux | .deb: sudo apt install ./JahSing3-3.0.0-linux-amd64.deb. .rpm: sudo dnf install ./JahSing3-3.0.0-linux-x86_64.rpm (confirm the unsigned-package prompt). AppImage: chmod +x the file, then run it. |
| Android | The APK is signed but distributed outside the Play Store, so Android blocks the install by default. When prompted, allow installs from this source (or enable it ahead of time under Settings ▸ Apps ▸ Special access ▸ Install unknown apps), then install normally. |
| Verify | Check your download against SHA256SUMS.txt: sha256sum -c on Linux, shasum -a 256 -c on macOS, Get-FileHash in PowerShell. |
