Is JahSing 3 free?
The core player is free to use. Advanced features are available by optional subscription (JahSing 3 Pro). A jahsing.com account is optional.
Which platforms does JahSing 3 run on?
Windows 10/11, macOS 12+, Linux (AppImage, deb and rpm) and Android are available from the Downloads page. iOS is coming soon.
Which audio formats can it play?
MP3, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, WAV, AAC and ALAC/M4A, plus tracker modules (.mod, .xm, .s3m, .it). Video is supported with an optional pop-out window. See audio formats explained.
Why does Windows or macOS warn me when I open the installer?
The desktop builds are not yet code-signed, so each operating system shows a first-launch warning. Follow the installation help steps and, if you like, and check the download against SHA256SUMS.txt first.
Does JahSing 3 collect my listening data?
No. There is no telemetry in the player and your library never leaves your device. See the privacy policy for how the website handles analytics and advertising.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Playing your local library works fully offline. The network is only used for features you choose to use, such as radio directories, podcast feeds and lyrics lookups.
Can I use my old Winamp skins?
Yes. Classic skin mode loads Winamp 2 .wsz skins, including the main, equaliser and playlist windows. See Classic Skins.
Where do the lyrics come from?
Synced and plain lyrics are fetched from the community service lrclib.net.
How do I add an internet radio station or a podcast?
Search the built-in radio directory, or paste a station stream link or podcast RSS URL. Remote .pls and .m3u playlists can be imported too. See playing stream links, .pls and .m3u files and subscribing to podcasts.
Can it edit my tags and artwork?
Yes. The tag editor handles ID3, Vorbis comments and MP4 tags, and can look up missing cover art from the MusicBrainz Cover Art Archive.
